Job summary

JOURNEYS | The Road Home in Palatine, IL is hiring two part-time Shelter Overnight Associates to oversee nightly activities at the homeless shelter. The role includes greeting visitors, documenting incidents, and maintaining safety throughout the night.

The position requires strong communication, problem-solving, and adaptability, with training provided. Hours are 11:00 pm–7:30 am, 24–32 hours weekly, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the general nightly activities at the homeless shelter.
• Greet and assist nightly visitors, clients, and volunteers.
• Document observations and incidents; keep records organized.
• Follow emergency protocols and agency procedures.
• Assist with duties such as laundry as needed.
