Job summary

Interstate Waste Services is seeking an Operations Supervisor I to oversee collections activities across commercial, residential, roll-off and container delivery lines. You will supervise drivers and helpers, partner with the Hauling Manager, and drive safety, customer experience, and efficiency while maintaining compliance with DOT and environmental standards.

The role emphasizes route optimization, team leadership, and engagement with multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 0-1+ years of experience in waste management operations.
• 0-1+ years of supervisory experience in waste management, transportation, and/or logistics services.
• Knowledge of DOT requirements for commercial vehicles.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Knowledge of PowerBI preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee route planning and safety awareness across lines of business.
• Manage drivers and helpers and coordinate with Sales/Dispatch.
• Ensure DOT compliance, safety programs, and regulatory paperwork.
• Improve customer experience and timely service delivery.
• Monitor route performance and efficiency improvements.
