Job summary

Medical City Dallas is actively seeking a Registered Nurse for the Med Surg Ortho unit. This full-time night position runs 7:00pm–7:00am with rotating weekends, requiring a compassionate, patient-centered nurse committed to high-quality care and collaboration with the care team.

As an RN, you will perform comprehensive assessments, develop and implement nursing care plans, and educate patients and families.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
• Associates degree is acceptable; a BSN required within 24 months of hire.
• Current TX RN license or compact license and current BLS provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient health status through data interpretation and collaboration with the care team.
• Provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care within RN scope of practice.
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop care plans.
• Implement nursing interventions based on diagnoses and standards of practice.
• Educate patients and families to promote health and self-management.
• Care for multiple patients, coordinating with the healthcare team.
• Evaluate patient responses to treatments and adjust plans accordingly.
• Apply critical thinking to analyze clinical data for decision making.
• Participate in coordination of care with physicians and allied health staff.
• Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies.
