Job summary

MercyOne Health System is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a 12-hour night shift. The role involves patient assessment, therapy administration, and collaboration with healthcare providers across age groups from neonate to geriatric.

Qualifications

• Certificate of completion from an accredited Respiratory Care Program (CAAHEP).
• Credential by the NBRC as CRT or RRT.
• State of Iowa Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers within 3 months of hire.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs inhaled medication therapy and arterial blood gas analysis.
• Operates and troubleshoots respiratory care equipment including ventilators and monitors.
• Interprets diagnostic results and documents medical records.
• Provides patient instruction on respiratory care devices and procedures.
• Participates in CPR and airway management as needed.
