Job summary

MercyOne Health System is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for day shift responsibilities in a full-time role. You will assess patients, administer therapies, perform diagnostic testing, and coordinate with care teams across age groups including neonates to geriatrics.

Qualifications

• Must be credentialed as a certified or registered respiratory therapist by NBRC on hire.
• Active Iowa respiratory care practitioner license on hire.
• BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
• Abuse mandatory reporter training within 6 months of hire and every 3 years.
• ACLS preferred within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform inhaled medication therapy and pulmonary function testing as ordered.
• Support ventilation and airway management for patients of all ages.
• Troubleshoot and operate respiratory care equipment and monitor patient status.
• Document care, file records, and participate in care planning.
• Provide patient instruction on respiratory devices and therapies.
