Job summary

Elliot Health System is opening a new Adult Stepdown Unit (ASDU), a 12-bed unit designed with ICU-inspired features to enhance patient safety and nursing satisfaction. The Resource Nurse will supervise and guide staff on a designated shift, ensuring real-time operations and high-quality patient care while collaborating with leadership.

The role requires an RN license in NH (or a valid Compact license), a BSN (or active enrollment), and at least three years in a critical care setting with

Qualifications

• BSN is required or candidate must be actively enrolled in a BSN program.
• Minimum of three years of experience in progressive, intermediate, or critical care with leadership duties (e.g., Charge Nurse).
• Licensed to practice as an RN in New Hampshire or hold a Compact Nursing License; BLS required.
• Specialty certification required within six months of eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Oversees unit operations on assigned shift and guides staff as a primary clinical resource.
• Provides direct patient care leadership and supports staff in delivering safe, high-quality care.
• Collaborates with the Clinical Nurse Manager and Administrative Supervisor to resolve issues and maintain smooth patient flow.
• Mentors new graduate nurses during their first year of employment beyond orientation.
• Promotes teamwork, handles performance coaching, and supports resource management and cost-effective care.
