Qualifications

• Required – High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association within six months of employment.
• Preferred – work experience in an acute care setting or operating room environment.
• Knowledge of radiology procedures and technical language.
• Must be able to travel throughout and between facilities.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule (nights, evenings, weekends, holidays, on-call).

Responsibilities

• Assists the Technologist by escorting patients and assisting in their care as needed.
• Navigates successfully through all computer systems to obtain necessary information.
• Observes patients to ensure safety and comfort during their stay in the imaging department.
• Transports supplies, equipment and instruments, charts, records, x-rays and reports for the department.
• Maintains adequate supplies in exam rooms, handling of oxygen tanks, developing and copying films.
• Advocates teamwork and maintains a positive work environment.
• Adapts communication to the patient population and secures permissions when needed.
