Qualifications

• Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.
• ARRT certification or registry eligibility within 90 days of employment.
• Current unrestricted license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure to ensure accuracy.
• Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
• Operates imaging equipment according to protocol (may include placement of NG tubes, IVs, urinary catheters, and administration of contrast).
• Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality.
• Performs timely quality control procedures and remediation as warranted.
• Assists in departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance).
• Adapts communication to the patient population and privacy considerations.
