Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn invites applications for a Psychiatric Technician Night Shift to provide direct patient observation and support in the Behavioral Health setting, promoting safety and a therapeutic environment. You will monitor patient status and relay changes to the nursing team, assist with safety measures and patient transport, while upholding confidentiality and policy adherence.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, crisis intervention training, and AHA

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work effectively with Behavioral Health patients.
• Non-violent crisis intervention technique/de-escalation training.
• AHA Heartsaver or AHA BLS Certification.
• Able to communicate with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Identify notable behavior and report observations to RN in charge.
• Monitor 1:1 observations and changes in patient condition.
• Apply restraints per policy and train annually.
• Adhere to hospital policies on restraint, seclusion, and observation.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per NYS and Federal guidelines.
• Complete 1:1 documentation and daily rounds as required.
