Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Identify unusual behavior of patients and communicate observations to RN in charge.
• Document patient behavior and changes during 1:1 observation and communicate to appropriate channels.
• Apply restraints appropriately on an annual basis.
• Follow hospital policies regarding restraint, seclusion and 1:1 observation.
• Recognize verbal/non-verbal communication problems of patients and families.
• Protect patient confidentiality per NYS and Federal guidelines.
• Make rounds and report status to the nurse in charge.
• Provide information for developing an individual master treatment plan.
• Assist in creating a safe environment for patients and staff.
