Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn seeks a Psychiatric Technician for the night shift to provide direct patient observation and support in the Behavioral Health setting. You will monitor patient behavior, assist with safety interventions, and report changes to nursing staff while maintaining confidentiality and following policies.

The role requires a High School diploma, familiarity with de-escalation techniques, and a commitment to patient care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work effectively with Behavioral Health patients.
• AHA Heartsaver or BLS Certification.
• Occasionally lift/carry up to 25 lbs. Occasionally push/pull up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient observation and support within the Behavioral Health setting.
• Monitor and report changes in patient behavior to nursing staff.
• Assist with safety interventions and 1:1 observation.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with departmental policies and documentation requirements.
• Document appropriately for 1:1 and close frequent observation patients in EPIC.
