Job summary

Long Island Community Hospital is seeking a Psychiatric Technician - Psych Access for the night shift (7PM–7AM), part-time. You will collaborate with Behavioral Health staff to observe, care for, and treat adults in a fast-paced psychiatric setting.

Key responsibilities include 1:1 observation, documentation, patient safety, and adherence to policies. Must have high school diploma with BLS/First Aid training and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or equivalent.
• BLS Certification and First Aid training preferred.
• Strong de-escalation and crisis intervention abilities.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills for Behavioral Health setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide observation, care, and treatment to adult psychiatric population.
• Follow directions of Charge RN, Nurse Manager, and Behavioral Health Management Team.
• Document patient observations and changes, including 1:1 observation.
• Apply restraints appropriately and safely per policy and annual training.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per NYS and Federal guidelines.
