Job summary

Wolfspeed, Inc. in Marcy, NY seeks a Metrology Technician to support automated semiconductor production in a cleanroom environment. You will work with Engineering to develop and qualify new processes and tool sets, analyzing DOE data and documenting results.

You will report process issues, take corrective actions with Process Engineers and Equipment Maintenance, and help meet yield and cycle-time goals. The 12-hour back-end night shift runs 3on-4off-4on-3off.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or 1 year of technical experience required.
• Ability to work in ISO5 clean room for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, stand or walk for long shifts.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex work instructions and observe performance to specification.
• Learn basic semiconductor physics and chemistry to understand process effects on product.
• MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access experience; strong written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Work with Engineering to develop and qualify new processes and tool sets.
• Characterize, document, and possibly present data based on DOE.
• Report and document process issues and equipment malfunctions.
• Take corrective action with Process Engineers & Equipment Maintenance to resolve non-conformances.
• Assist in creating new procedures and refining existing ones.
• Collaborate to achieve quarterly yield and cycle-time goals.
