Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms, a major poultry producer, seeks a Poultry Processing Supervisor to oversee production lines and ensure compliance with HACCP, SSOPs, GMPs and USDA/OSHA regulations. The role emphasizes productivity, safety and adherence to company policies while maintaining customer specifications.

The supervisor will lead up to 100 employees, mentor staff, and collaborate with QA to improve throughput, waste reduction and product quality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing and poultry environment is valued.
• Ability to lead, coach, and enforce safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage production line/department by establishing procedures and adjusting as necessary to meet production schedules, increase efficiencies and meet or exceed budget objectives
• Deploy and rotate personnel to optimize efficiency and ergonomics while meeting schedules
• Ensure daily reporting is accurately completed and recorded (reports, attendance, yields, etc.)
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and reduce repeat deficiencies
• Lead or participate in planning and implementing process improvements and monitor metrics
• Partner with Quality Assurance to ensure a food safe, sanitary environment per USDA requirements
• Mentor, coach, and train employees; provide feedback on strengths and areas for improvement
• Administer performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions
• Follow safety initiatives and wear required PPE; contribute to zero-incident culture
• Collaborate with other departments to meet location goals
• Understand and adhere to current Union contract if applicable
• Perform additional duties as assigned
