Job summary

Modern Machining Solutions Inc. in Fairhope, AL seeks a Phlebotomist for a contract role with the potential to become permanent. The position is on the 3rd shift, 8:30pm–7am, 10-hour shifts, Monday-Friday with rotating weekends.

Responsibilities include performing blood draws, labeling and processing specimens, centrifuging and storing samples, and ensuring accurate records. Candidates must have valid phlebotomy certification for the state and at least 6 months' venipuncture experience;

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection.
• Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
