Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Vascular Unit. This full-time night shift (12-hour) provides care, monitors patients, and supports activities of daily living. Responsibilities include vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, specimen collection, and Foley catheter work under RN supervision.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or related certifications. BLS within 90 days and health-care experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CNA or equivalent certification or RN/LPN clinical experience preferred.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care and assist activities of daily living.
• Monitor and document vital signs and patient status.
• Perform phlebotomy, point-of-care tests, and EKGs.
• Assist with mobility, ambulation, and IV removal when needed.
• Collect specimens and support Foley catheter procedures.
