Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff in acute care settings. You will help with ADLs, monitor vital signs, collect samples, and document results for RN/LPN care coordination.

Responsibilities include assisting with meals, mobility, and personal care, maintaining a safe patient environment, and adhering to infection control and PPE protocols. CNA/CPCT preferred; BCLS within 90 days of hire is required.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of acute care experience or current nursing student preferred.
• CNA or CPCT certification preferred.
• BCLS within 90 days of hire required.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with delegated care and maintain a clean, safe, organized environment.
• Record patient data including vital signs and report findings to RN/LPN/LVN.
• Assist with meals, bathing, grooming, linen changes, and continence care.
• Support patient mobility and positioning with walkers, crutches, canes, and wheelchairs.
• Collect urine and stool samples and perform finger-stick blood glucose monitoring.
• Communicate patient information to the care team and adhere to PPE and infection control.
• Contribute to performance improvement and risk management initiatives.
• Maintain regular attendance and comply with policies and standards.
