Job summary

St. Joseph’s Wayne Medical Center in Wayne, NJ is seeking a Patient Care Associate for the 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM shift. This on-site role supports patients with daily living activities, basic care for acute cases, and helps maintain a safe, clean environment.

EKGs and venipuncture duties are performed under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. Qualified candidates may hold a PCA/PCT diploma with healthcare experience, CNA certification, or related nursing coursework.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• PCA/PCT diploma with 6 months to 1 year of recent healthcare experience OR CNA certification OR PCA/PCT diploma with NHCA certification OR enrollment in nursing program with fundamentals coursework.
• Evidence of completion in Nursing Fundamental level coursework or Nursing Assistant training program or PCA/PCT/Home Health Aide/CMA experience.
• Basic Life Support certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Provide basic care to acutely ill patients.
• Help maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Perform EKGs and venipuncture as directed by RN.
