St. Joseph’s Wayne Medical Center in Wayne, NJ is seeking a Patient Care Associate for the 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM shift. The role involves assisting patients with daily living tasks, maintaining a safe environment, and performing EKGs and venipuncture as directed by the Registered Nurse.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and BLS certification within 6 months. CNA or PCA/PCT credentials or enrollment in a nursing program are acceptable pathways.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• PCA/PCT diploma with 6 months to 1 year of healthcare experience OR CNA certification OR NHCA certification.
• Enrolled in nursing school with Nursing Fundamentals coursework in lieu of diploma/certification.
• Evidence of Nursing Fundamentals coursework or Nursing Assistant training program.
• PCA/PCT, Home Health Aide or CMA experience encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and basic care.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients.
• Perform EKGs and venipuncture as directed by the RN.
