Job summary

St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, NJ is seeking a Patient Care Associate for full-time evening hours in the Med/Surg/Vents unit.

You will assist with activities of daily living, provide basic care to acutely ill patients, and help maintain a safe, clean environment on-site. The role includes performing EKGs and venipuncture as directed by the Registered Nurse; BLS/ACLS/PALS are required and levels may be extended through AHA certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS must be obtained per organization policy.
• PCA/PCT diploma with 6 months–1 year of healthcare experience in the last 6 months OR CNA certification OR related PCA/PCT credentials.
• Enrollment in nursing school or completion of Nursing Fundamentals coursework is acceptable in lieu of diploma/certification.
• Evidence of completion in Nursing Fundamentals coursework or Nursing Assistant training is acceptable.
• PCA/PCT, Home Health Aide or CMA experience is relevant.
