Job summary

You will verify coverage using Real Time Eligibility tools and collect co-pays, while maintaining compliance and high service standards.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and familiarity with EPIC/Cerner EHR systems, with eligibility checks and referrals handled for outpatient visits and ED

Qualifications

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and staff in line with Jefferson values.
• Gathers accurate demographic information to identify Jefferson patients or assign a medical record number.
• Requests photo ID and insurance cards; scans copies for records.
• Verifies insurance coverage and benefits using RTE/Phreesia or payer websites.
• Completes MSPQ questionnaire for all Medicare patients when interviewed.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with patients and families to provide a positive experience.
• Gathers demographics and insurance information accurately.
• Verifies coverage and collects out-of-pocket liability at service time.
• Enter orders and confirm medical necessity for outpatient visits as needed.
• Rotate through various Patient Access points including Outpatient Registration and ED.
