Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Post high school coursework in healthcare, accounting, business, public relations or related field preferred.
• One year customer service or general office experience preferred.
• Experience in Registration, Insurance Verification/Pre-Certification, Financial counseling or Patient Accounts a plus.
• Able to work in a fast-paced clinical environment with strong communication and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients to collect account information at workstation or bedside.
• Explains and completes registration documents and discusses insurance policies.
• Performs insurance eligibility and generates patient estimates.
• Collects co-payments, co-insurances and deductibles; identifies uninsured patients.
• Provides financial assistance information and refers to financial advocates when appropriate.
