Summa Health seeks a Patient Access Liaison II for ER/L&D, a full-time role working 8:30am–9:00pm, including every other weekend/holiday. The position includes a $1500 hire-on bonus and responsibilities across patient registration, insurance eligibility, and financial counseling in a high-volume clinical setting.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma (additional coursework in healthcare preferred) and about 1 year of customer service or related experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; post high school coursework in healthcare, accounting, business, public relations or related field preferred.
• 1 year of customer service or general office support experience preferred.
• Experience in Registration, Insurance Verification/Pre-Certification, Financial counseling, Patient Accounts is a plus.
• Ability to function in a fast-paced clinical environment; high accuracy in keyboard input (Excel/Word/Outlook) and strong communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Interviews patients in person at workstation or bedside to obtain necessary account information.
• Explains and navigates patients through registration, insurance policies and benefits; presents and explains registration documents.
• Provides financial counseling information, generates patient estimates and collects co-payments, coinsurance and deductibles.
• Refers to patient financial advocates when appropriate; maintains professional customer service and presentation of Summa Health.
