Job summary

North Freeze Dry in Little Falls, MN seeks a Packaging Utility Operator to support and back up packaging operators in accordance with manuals and quality criteria. You will manage batches, inspect materials, maintain records, and ensure a clean, safe work area.

Responsibilities include operating packaging equipment, performing inspections, and assisting with labeling, weighing, and sanitation. Forklift operation and teamwork are essential in a fast-paced plant environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months manufacturing/production experience preferred.
• Ability to follow proper food safety, quality and workplace safety procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instruction.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a team environment.
• Ability to lift to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Forklift certification preferred, or willing to obtain.
• Work well in a team environment.
• Mechanically inclined, drive yourself to continually grow and develop your role.
• Ability to adapt and accommodate change.

Responsibilities

• Produce the required quantity of batched recipes within specifications and production plan.
• Inspect dry ingredients and other materials for quality compliance.
• Maintain logs of units produced and records of errors.
• Perform pre-operational equipment and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Conduct quality and sanitation checks per program schedules.
• Interface with ERP to manage inventory and lot traceability.
• Keep a clean, safe, orderly work area.
• Back-up packaging operator tasks as needed.
• Operate packaging equipment and conveyors; assist with labeling and weighing.
• Assist with housekeeping and paperwork accuracy during shifts.
