Job summary

Akron Children's is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide primary and specialty care in collaboration with physicians. The role involves health assessments, diagnostic testing, and creating comprehensive treatment plans.

You will work within the hospital's standard care arrangements and maintain medical staff privileges. The position includes night shifts from 6pm to 7am, 3 days per week, with onsite responsibilities and a focus on high-acuity care across neonatal, pediatric, and adult

Qualifications

• Requires RN license in Ohio and NP certification.
• Must have certificate to prescribe or be eligible.
• ACLS or PALS may be required depending on practice setting.
• Current Health Care Provider BLS training required.

Responsibilities

• Provides advanced nursing care to patients with complex acute, critical, and chronic health conditions, including the delivery of acute care services.
• Practice with a variety of specialty-based populations including neonatal, pediatric, and adult.
• Performs health assessments and physical exams; identifies health and medical risk factors; orders and interprets tests.
• Develops diagnosis and treatment plans with patient and family; may prescribe medications.
• Ensures credentialing as an active medical staff member and appropriate medical staff privileges.

Education

Master's or Doctoral Degree in Nursing

RN license in Ohio

Nurse Practitioner certification

Certificate to prescribe (or eligible)
