Job summary

Qualifications

• Must hold certification as a Resident Care Associate and provide evidence of certification.
• Maintain continuing education credits as required by state to sustain RMA certification.
• Knowledge of safe medication administration techniques and competency evaluation.
• CPR and First Aid certified or willing to obtain per policy.
• Understand and practice resident confidentiality.
• Ability to work weekends and flexible hours as needed for resident care.
• Show sincere compassion and genuine concern for seniors and their families.
• Proficient with basic office equipment to perform duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring and safe delivery of the Medication Management Program.
• Adhere to Commonwealth Senior Living policies and regulatory standards when administering medications.
• Administer and accurately record medication administration for residents.
• Present medications to residents and observe ingestion or other administration methods.
• Observe and report complications or adverse drug effects, coordinating with the Resident Care Director.
• Determine and record effectiveness of medications in a timely manner.
• Document refusals and reasons for not administering medications.
• Store medications securely and maintain accountability during shifts.
• Record vital signs during medication administration and restock inventories as needed.
• Re-order Resident medications from pharmacy when required.
• Document pertinent information in resident records and complete incident reports.
• Follow infection control practices and OSHA standards.
