Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living at Front Royal is seeking a Registered Medication Associate (RMA) to ensure safe medication administration and compassionate resident care. The role requires weekend availability and the ability to work across shifts in a Nursing home environment.

Responsibilities include medication administration, documentation, and collaboration with the Resident Care Director to maintain high standards of safety and resident well-being.

Qualifications

• Must have certification as a Resident Care Associate.
• Continuing education credits required to maintain certification.
• Knowledge of safe medication administration techniques.
• CPR and First Aid certification or willing to obtain.
• Must understand and practice resident confidentiality.
• Must have weekend and flexible hours availability.
• Demonstrates compassion and genuine concern for residents and families.
• Proficient with basic office equipment including a PC.

Responsibilities

• Assists in monitoring and safe delivery of the Medication Management Program.
• Administers medications and records administration accurately.
• Presents medications to residents and observes ingestion or other methods.
• Observes, records, and reports adverse reactions or side effects.
• Determines and records effectiveness of medications.
• Documents medication refusals and reasons in physician order records.
• Stores medications safely and maintains accountability.
• Communicates with Resident Care Director and team as needed.
• Maintains infection control per Universal Precautions and OSHA standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
