Qualifications

• Certification as a Resident Care Associate with ongoing CE credits.
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• Knowledge of safe medication administration techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assists in monitoring and safe delivery of the Medication Management Program.
• Adheres to policies and state regulations when administering medications.
• Administers and records medications for residents as prescribed.
• Presents medications to residents and observes ingestion or other administration methods.
• Observes and reports adverse effects or complications to ensure resident safety.
• Determines and records effectiveness of medications.
• Documents refusals and reasons for non-administration.
• Stores medications safely and maintains accountability.
• Documents updates in the daily shift log and communicates with the Resident Care Director.
• Demonstrates safe handling of controlled substances and counts as required.
• Inspects and maintains equipment and supplies for resident safety.
• Records vital signs during medication administration.
• Re-orders resident medications as needed and requested.
• Maintains infection control practices and hygiene standards.
