Job summary

Mount Sinai West is seeking a Staff Nurse for Med/Surg (Private Unit) on a part-time night schedule from 7pm to 7:30am with every other weekend. You will assess, diagnose, plan, and intervene for patient care, provide health teaching, and participate in discharge planning while collaborating with the care team.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Nursing program; BSN preferred.
• RN with license and active clinical practice.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certificate required for related depts.
• ACLS, BCLS, and PALS certifications as specified by units.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessment based on interview, exam, and records.
• Document progress and adapt care plans accordingly.
• Discharge planning aligned with patient status and inter-departmental communication.
• Educate patients based on readiness to learn and comprehension.
• Precept and mentor new staff; role model professional behavior.
• Coordinate patient care ensuring priorities are met for unit needs.
