Job summary

Mount Sinai West is seeking a Staff Nurse for the Emergency Department Float Pool. The role is full-time day shift from 7am to 7:30pm, with every other weekend. You will assess, plan, intervene, and teach, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective patient care.

The position emphasizes nursing leadership, education, and discharge planning, with opportunities to mentor staff and support continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with BSN preferred.
• Current RN license in New York required with active status.
• Clinical certification in NRP, ACLS, BCLS and PALS as specified.
• Experience in Med/Surg Telemetry or ED care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments and document progress or changes.
• Discharge planning and inter-departmental coordination.
• Provide patient education based on learning needs and readiness.
• Precept and mentor staff; support orientation of new hires.
• Communicate patient status to leadership and care teams.
• Uphold department philosophy and ensure quality of care.
