Job summary

Cape Cod Hospital is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide overnight coverage for the Hospitalist service in Hyannis, MA. The role includes cross-cover, bedside evaluation of acute changes, and admission management under supervision of the nocturnist physician.

Applicants should hold MSN with MA NP/PA licensure, BLS/ACLS, and DEA/MCSR registrations. Two years of adult medical patient experience is required; per diem night shifts include weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight clinical coverage for Hospitalist service patients, including cross-cover management and bedside evaluation.
• Initial assessment and management of urgent clinical issues with escalation to supervising nocturnist.
• Under supervision, perform admission evaluation and manage new patients from the emergency department.
• Provide internal medicine consultative services as needed.
• Coordinate care with appropriate specialty physicians.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of clinical work.
