Job summary

The ideal candidate holds a Master's NP or PA credential with MA licensure and oncology experience, plus DEA and BLS. A strong team player with supervisory skills is preferred.

Qualifications

• Masters prepared NP with at least 1 year of NP experience.
• Massachusetts RN license and NP certification required.
• MA Board of Registration NP certification required.
• Adult NP certification (ANCC or AANP) required.
• DEA registration for prescribing; BLS current.
• Oncology cert preferred; outpatient oncology experience preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to supervise staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide night-time and weekend coverage including hospital rounds as needed.
• Assist attending oncologists in all areas of patient care in Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology.
• Elicit history, perform exams, order diagnostics, and treat oncology patients under physician supervision.
• Prescribe medications and manage treatment plans within guidelines and state law.
• Coordinate with oncology team, arrange referrals, and communicate with patients and families.
• Supervise PA/NP students during rotations and participate in education and quality activities.
• Maintain documentation and participate in insurance pre-authorizations as needed.
• Support policy development and survivorship care planning within the Oncology department.
