Job summary

Excel Hotel Group in San Diego is seeking a friendly front desk agent to check guests in and out quickly, handle payments, and provide information about hotel services using the property management system. You will welcome guests, issue keys, answer phones, and respond to requests, while upholding hotel policies and striving for total guest satisfaction.

Minimum 1–2 years in customer service; ability to stand eight hours; basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years customer service experience.
• Ability to stand for 8 hours.
• Basic knowledge of computers and software including ability to use e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet software and hotel management system.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes guests in a friendly, prompt and professional manner.
• Registers guests, issues room keys, provides information on hotel services and room location, and answers phones promptly.
• Upsells rooms whenever possible to maximize hotel revenue.
• Accurately processes all cash and credit card transactions according to procedures, including posting charges, completing cashier reports, preparing deposits, and counting/securing bank.
• Issues, controls and releases guest safe-deposit boxes.
• Communicates outstanding guest requests or issues to management for follow-up.
• Responds to guest complaints and performs service recovery to ensure total guest satisfaction.
