FedEx Freight is seeking a dock worker to move freight between dock areas and trailers. Responsibilities include operating forklifts and pallet jacks, securing cargo, and assisting with documentation and customer needs.

Work is in a dock environment with varying hours and shift times; prior warehouse experience is preferred. This role requires physical fitness and adherence to safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing and/or forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and operate dock equipment.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work varying shifts and in a fast-paced environment.

Responsabilités

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading to trailers.
• Perform freight handling using forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Verify documentation matches freight description (e.g. type, weight, hazardous materials).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
