FedEx Freight is looking for a dock worker to transport freight across the dock area to and from trailers for loading. You will operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck, verify freight documentation, and secure loads in trailers according to safety standards.

The role requires attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced dock environment, and willingness to assist customers and perform hostling duties when needed. Starting pay and shift times are posted in the job description.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing or forklift experience preferred.
• If hostler/yard mule duties required, experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight of varying weights several times a week, to lift dock plates weighing approximately 100 pounds, and to open trailer doors requiring approximately 75 pounds of lift force, up to several times per day or more.

• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Verify documentation matches freight description (type, weight, hazardous materials).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
