Job summary

Kenan Advantage Group (KAG) seeks a transportation coordinator to streamline freight operations, plan daily routes, and maximize loads across cargo types. You will collaborate with dispatchers and fleet managers to ensure on-time deliveries and efficient utilization of assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; degree preferred.
• Logistics dispatch/scheduling experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Microsoft and logistics software.
• Ability to solve problems under pressure with independent judgment.
• Ability to work well in teams with staff and contractors from all departments.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Positive attitude and strong personal skills.
• Ability to work in a high-demand environment with adaptability to change.

Responsibilities

• Partner with dispatchers and fleet managers to plan and carry out shipping operations.
• Develop daily operating plan with emphasis on achieving department KPI's.
• Evaluate current operating plan and create future plans focusing on payload, on-time deliveries, and loaded mile percentage.
• Collaborate daily with Scheduling Team Leader on growth opportunities for KAG assets.
• Adjust operating plans to maximize growth, efficiency and safety.
• Solicit new and existing customers for freight opportunities.
• Update sourcing and revise daily plan to ensure efficiency.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere to meet company demands and expectations.
• Communicate effectively with customers, drivers, dispatchers, and other departments.
• Manage day-to-day operations of up to 75 drivers.
• Coordinate maintenance issues with Terminal Managers and Lead Technicians.
