Job summary

Emerus in El Paso, TX is seeking an ER Technician to provide technical assistance and supportive patient care across assigned areas. This role covers vitals, specimen collection, and wound care under the charge nurse and nursing staff.

Requirements include English fluency, applicable EMT/paramedic credentials, or nursing school enrollment with ER experience. Travel to locations may be required; benefits and a sign-on bonus are offered.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED required.
• EMT-P, AEMT, LP or EMT-B with ER experience with applicable license and credentials.
• English fluency and strong communication skills.
• 2+ years ER technician experience or related hospital experience.
• Nursing school enrollment with relevant experience acceptable in some markets.

Responsibilities

• Collect, report, and document clinical data; take vital signs and collect specimens.
• Collect lab samples and perform lab testing per policies and CLIA regulations.
• Assist with patient activities and care as directed by the charge nurse.
• Provide superficial wound care and patient safety.
• Maintain patient privacy and a clean, safe environment; aseptic technique.
• Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

EMT-P / AEMT / Licensed Paramedic

EMT-B with ER experience

Enrollment in School of Nursing

2+ years ER experience as ER Technician

3+ years as CNA

3+ years as Certified Anesthesia Tech/OR Tech
