Job summary

The Hospitals of Providence Neighborhood Hospitals in El Paso, TX is seeking an ER-focused caregiver to provide technical assistance and supportive patient care across assigned areas.

The role involves collecting clinical data and vital signs, performing lab testing, assisting with patient activities, and ensuring patient safety and confidentiality. Candidates should hold relevant EMS or nursing-related credentials and be prepared to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with one of several pathways listed above.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
• Current ACLS/ALS certification is required in most markets.
• Current PALS certifications strongly preferred.
• Experience with IV start, phlebotomy, and initiation of EKG is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect, report, and document clinical data; take vital signs, height and weight, intake and output, pulse oximetry; collect specimens.
• Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing per policies and CLIA/COLA regulations.
• Assist with patient activities and care per the plan of care; provide superficial wound care.
• Provide for patient safety and privacy; maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Maintain aseptic technique, isolation procedures, and infection control measures.
• Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
• Prepare patients and chaperone during examinations/procedures.
• Attend staff meetings and perform duties as assigned; travel to facility locations as required.

3+ years Certified Anesthesia Tech/OR Tech (Wisconsin market only)
