Job summary

Goodwill Houston is seeking an Assistant Dock Manager to support dock and salvage operations, driving efficiency and profitability while ensuring safety and compliance. You will train and lead dock staff, coordinate logistics for donated goods, and help manage inventory and related processes at our Houston facility.

The role requires supervisory experience, forklift certification, and the ability to work a fast-paced environment including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months of supervisory experience required.
• Must be able to become forklift certified.
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs, occasionally up to 100 lbs.
• Must be able to work nights and weekends.
• Proficient in salvage loading techniques, tracking and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure alignment and consistency of dock and salvage operations and SOPs.
• Supervise daily activities of dock associates to meet production and safety standards.
• Coordinate after-market salvage operations and maximize profitability.
• Oversee transportation, promotion, collection, and distribution of donated products.
• Maintain inventory control and ensure proper trailer manifests.
