Job summary

Goodwill Houston is seeking a Dock Lead for the Night Shift to supervise dock and salvage operations, ensuring safe handling of donated goods and efficient, cost‑effective processes.

You will train and lead dock staff, coordinate with vendors, enforce safety programs, and drive productivity to support mission services funding. A flexible schedule including nights and weekends is required. Experience in warehouse settings and forklift operation is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, and perform basic mathematical skills.
  • Six (6) months of experience in a supervisory role, or equivalent work experience, is required.
  • Experience In a Warehouse Setting Is Preferred.
  • Must be able to become forklift certified.
  • Proficient in salvage loading techniques, loading styles, tracking, and reporting.
  • Ability to multi-task, adapt to change, and work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures alignment and consistency of dock and salvage operations, including SOPs and safety programs.
  • Assist in supervising the night activities of dock associates to maintain production and safety standards.
  • Coordinate salvage sales and zero-waste opportunities to increase revenue and profitability.
  • Maintain inventory control of goods and ensure loads are properly manifested and sealed.
  • Ensure all transportation/baler safety policies and procedures are followed to minimize accidents and costs.
  • Assist in maintaining good stewardship of donations and safety of personnel and property.
