Job summary

Cowan Systems, LLC in Windsor, CT is seeking a Dispatch Manager to lead the daily execution of customer freight delivery and oversee the assigned fleet. You will report to the Operations or Terminal Manager and drive problem-solving, process improvements, and safe, on-time performance.

The role requires coordinating drivers, maintaining driver relationships, onboarding, coaching, and ensuring DOT compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or substituted with 4 years of similar experience.
• 2 years of dispatching CDL Class A truck drivers.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Effectively dispatch a fleet with real-time management and data accuracy.
• Onboard new drivers and review driver scorecards to meet performance and income goals.
• Ensure DOT hours of service compliance and driver fitness before dispatch.
• Communicate policy changes to the fleet and coordinate with customers.
• Provide leadership and coaching to drivers; participate in safety and maintenance activities.
