Job summary

Ruan Transportation Management Systems, Inc. in Saint Joseph, Missouri, is seeking a on-site Dispatch Coordinator to coordinate timely pickup and delivery, assign workload to drivers, and monitor operations to meet customer expectations.

You will use Ruan's dispatch systems to capture data in near real-time, communicate with drivers and customers, and ensure DOT compliance while maintaining safe, efficient service around the clock.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• 1–2 years of Transportation/dispatching experience or related.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations required.
• Strong working knowledge of dispatch systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate timely pickup and delivery of customer orders within assigned area while ensuring efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Direct and schedule drivers' work; notify drivers of assignments to ensure on-time movement of goods.
• Monitor driver activities and performance; resolve daily service and scheduling issues.
• Inform and escalate service issues to management; maintain professional communication with customer contacts.
• Monitor drivers' hours of service to prevent DOT violations.
• Prepare and process data and paperwork; update driver and dispatch information in real time.
