Job summary

Ruan in Salina, KS is seeking a Dispatcher/Dispatch Coordinator to coordinate timely pickups and deliveries, assign workloads to drivers, and ensure compliance with DOT regulations. This role requires close collaboration with drivers and customers to keep shipments moving safely and efficiently.

You will monitor driver hours, utilize dispatch systems to capture operational data in near real time, and resolve schedule issues promptly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• 1–2 years in transportation, dispatch, or customer service.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate timely pickups and deliveries within assigned area while ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Direct and schedule drivers' work; notify for on-time movement of goods.
• Resolve daily service and scheduling issues; communicate with customers and management.
• Monitor drivers' hours of service to prevent DOT violations.
• Maintain timely communication with customer contacts on issues impacting service.
• Prepare and process data and paperwork; update dispatch systems in real time.
• Promote safety in all dispatch activities.
