Job summary

Cheney Brothers is seeking a Shuttle Driver for night-shift operations in North Carolina. The role involves transporting empty trailers to warehouses, then delivering full trailers to domicile/shuttle yard locations, while complying with DOT regulations and maintaining safety and accuracy in paperwork.

You will work a Sunday-Thursday schedule with a 3:00 pm dispatch, earning competitive pay and benefits. Physical stamina to handle 60–90 lb loads and the ability to operate a lift gate are

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 1 year or more commercial driving experience required.
• Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement required.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet all state licensing/certification requirements.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Must work 3rd shift, Sunday-Thursday nights.
• Pass pre-employment drug test and road test.
• Valid DOT Health Card or able to secure one.
• Able to lift 60–90 pounds and operate equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety checks (pre/post trip) including DOT inspections.
• Report safety issues and required repairs.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety policies; inspect freight security.
• Ensure route paperwork is complete and available at dispatch.
• Drive and deliver trailers according to route schedule.
• Perform hook/unhook procedures safely.
• Park and store tractors/trailers in designated areas.
• Secure equipment and freight; manage damaged goods and returns.
• Unload equipment and keep trailers clean.
• Maintain daily hours-of-service records per regulations.
• Assist with general housekeeping in work areas.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
