Job summary

Performance Foodservice in Hickory, NC seeks CDL-A delivery drivers for night dispatch routes. You will drive tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes, delivering food products to customers with DOT-compliant safety practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• 6+ months commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL-A.
• Must be 21+ years of age.
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check.
• Pass road test.
• Attains or has valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card.
• Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally.
• Functions as a team member within the department and organization.
• Performs safety checks (pre/post trip) per DOT regulations.
• Reports safety issues and repairs required.
• Follows DOT regulations and company safety guidelines.
• Inspects trailer for proper loading and security.
• Drives to and delivers customer orders according to route schedule.
• Unloads products and stores them at customer locations.
