Job summary

Hutchinson Community College in Hutchinson, Kansas is seeking a full-time Custodian to perform daily cleaning of university buildings and facilities. The role requires shifting between day, evening, and weekend hours as needed and includes responsibilities from dusting to HVAC maintenance.

You will work 40 hours weekly and be eligible for benefits. The position emphasizes reliability, neat appearance, and cooperation with students, staff, and the community, with a prior custodial background

Qualifications

• Custodial experience preferred.
• Must be neat and present a positive image to students, staff and community.
• Available to work days, evenings and weekends as needed.
• Ability to cooperate with students, college personnel, and the community.
• Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to push/pull, reach, bend, stoop, walk and climb.
• May work in adverse conditions with possible exposure to bodily fluids.
• Successful completion of a physical capacity and drug screen may be required.

Responsibilities

• Daily cleaning of buildings: dusting, windows, floors, walls, furniture, restrooms and fixtures.
• Maintain interior spaces from ceiling to floor; clean light fixtures, replace bulbs, clean HVAC vents, change filters.
• Assist other employees as needed.
• Willingness to work days, evenings, and weekends as necessary.
• Arrive on time for work, attend regularly, and perform duties.
• Comply with HutchCC policies, procedures and practices.
• Serve actively on campus committees.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Director and/or Coordinators of Facilities.
