Baystate Health in Palmer, Massachusetts is seeking a part-time Behavioral Resource Technician (BRT) to provide safety-focused care for patients at Baystate Wing Hospital. You will work 12-hour nights, 24 hours per week, with weekend and holiday rotations.

The role emphasizes observation, patient assistance, de-escalation, and collaboration with RNs and the health care team to maintain a therapeutic environment and deliver high-quality care.

Qualifications

• 1 year of patient care experience in a health setting.
• GED or HiSET is required.
• Certifications include BLS and de-escalation training.

Responsibilities

• Provides safety observation of the patient and communicates status to the RN.
• Assists with activities of daily living and maintains a safe environment.
• Remains with assigned patient during one-to-one observation and observes for safety risks.
• Interacts professionally with the care team and family, showing empathy and respect.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and communicates effectively with patients.
