Job summary

Baystate Health, home to Baystate Medical Center, seeks a Behavioral Resource Technician (BRT) to join the team in Springfield, MA. Work part-time 24 hours/week or per-diem on 1st shift (12-hour) from 7am to 7:30pm, with every-other weekend and rotating holidays.

Responsibilities include safety observations, patient care, and reporting any changes to the nurse while documenting every 15 minutes. Requires CPR/BLS and CPI within 6 months, GED or HiSET, and up to 2 years in behavioral health.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of relevant patient care experience required; 2 years in behavioral health preferred.
• Experience with behavioral health patients or as a paraprofessional preferred.
• CPR through American Heart Association BLS Provider required.
• CPI required within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety observation of assigned patient(s).
• Maintain a safe environment and interact with patient, family, and staff professionally.
• Provide patient care which may include bathing, feeding, toileting, ambulating, turning, and repositioning.
• Report changes in patient condition or behavior to the nurse and document every 15 minutes.
• Demonstrate competency for one-to-one observation of suicidal patients as per policy.
• Perform other duties as required.
