Job summary

Baystate Health in Springfield, MA is seeking a part-time Behavioral Resource Technician (BRT) to provide one-to-one patient observation and care in a behavioral health setting.

Responsibilities include safety monitoring, interacting with patients and families, and documenting every 15 minutes. Required CPR/BLS and CPI within 6 months; GED or high school diploma accepted. Part-time shifts include 12-hour days with every-other weekend and rotating holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of relevant patient care experience required.
• 2 years' experience with behavioral health patients preferred.
• CPR through American Heart Association BLS Provider required.
• CPI training within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety observation of the patient(s) assigned.
• Maintain a safe environment and interact with patient, family and staff.
• Provide care for patient incl. bathing, feeding, toileting, ambulation and repositioning.
• Report changes in patient condition to the nurse and document every 15 minutes.
• Demonstrate competency for one-to-one observation per suicide policy; stay awake and alert.
