Baystate Health is seeking a Behavioral Resource Technician (BRT) at Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer, Massachusetts. The role focuses on safety, patient care, and collaboration with patients, families, and staff to deliver high-quality care.

The position requires 1 year of relevant patient care experience and offers opportunities for professional growth within a large health system. Shifts are days, full-time, with 12-hour days, 36 hours per week, and every-other weekend plus rotating holidays.

Qualifications

• 1 year of relevant patient care experience
• 2 years of experience working with behavioral health patients preferred
• Certifications include Basic Life Support (BLS) and safety/de-escalation training are beneficial

Responsibilities

• Provide safety observation of the patient and document status every 15 minutes; promptly communicate patient information to the RN.
• Provide direct patient care including bathing, feeding, toileting, ambulation, turning and repositioning; assist with activities of daily living.
• Maintain a safe environment; monitor for suicide risk, de-escalate, and ensure continuous observation as required.
• Develop and maintain professional, respectful relationships with patients, families, and health care staff.
• Communicate confidential patient information and prioritize patient needs even during busy periods.
